The future of the World Trade Organization and the global trade system

An event co-hosted by the UK Trade Forum and Norton Rose

The event is now fully booked.

As conflicts and tensions between the US and trade partners around the world escalate, the WTO and the multilateral rules-based system that has governed global trade for 70 years are coming under unprecedented strain. Will the system hold or is the world heading towards all-out trade war? And how well will Britain weather stormy economic waters after Brexit?

The UK Trade Forum invites you to join to a panel discussion of these and other questions.

Our speakers will be:

Alan Wolff, deputy director-general of the WTO and former deputy US Trade Representative;

Miriam Gonzalez Durantez, partner in the international legal practice of Dechert and a former EU trade negotiator; and

Alan Winters, Professor of Economics and director of the UK Trade Policy Observatory.

The event will be moderated by Guy de Jonquières, former World Trade Editor, Financial Times.
